Instagram

Instagram is a popular social network and social app available for almost all mobile operating systems we use today, that include iOS, Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry and many others. Contrary to popular belief, Instagram is not just a photo and video sharing tool but it is also a powerful photo and video editor service. With the help of Instagram built in photo editor, users can adjust basic things like brightness, contrast, saturation, temperature and highlights of their images to make them even better.

The latest version of Instagram comes with support for landscape and portrait photos which was the most wanted feature. With the addition of this feature, users are now able to watch their favorite photos and videos in desired orientation rather than just in a square orientation. Amazingly Instagram hasn’t released major updates to change the way its social network works but most of the updates are for better editing features and performance. In order to share a photo with your Instagram community or friends, you can either share a photo that is already taken by the default camera app on your device or you can capture a photo using Instagram camera feature.

Although Instagram gives users full control of their images and settings but first it uses automatic settings to set the brightness according to the scene, you can actually see the slider searching for the best settings and later you can move it around to find the suitable one if you want. However it is not recommended to manually set those settings as Instagram uses a smart combination of brightness, contrast and saturation while adjusting the best photo capturing settings.

This feature is added in the latest version while older versions do not allow users to change the settings while capturing the photo. It means users cannot capture good photos in darkness with older versions. For more advanced and detailed settings and options, tap on the wrench icon and you’ll get tons of options including brightness, contrast, highlights, saturations, sharpening and many others. All of these settings could be adjusted from 0-100 that makes it easier for users to decide how much effect they want on a particular photo.

All of the above mentioned options and tools are also available in tons of other apps and services but what makes Instagram better than any other photo sharing network is its wide range of filters. There are hundreds of filters available in Instagram collection and the company adds new filters regularly. Some of the most popular filters are Crema, Aden and Slumber. These filters are not only ready to apply but you can modify them according to your preferences too.

For example you can adjust the filter strength by using the same slider option that allows users to move the slider from 0-100. Of course you can apply multiple filters at the same time and adjust their strength to different levels. You can share your photos on Instagram network or you can use other sharing options like Facebook and Twitter to share those photos on other networks too.
